The Youth Forum (Program) for Nine Secondary Schools was convened on the theme “Promoting culture and preserving environment through advocacy and awareness programme” from 26th -27th March, 2018 at Garpawoong MSS. It was commenced with Marchang Ceremony followed by welcome and overall program highlight and introduction of judges by Mr.Rinchen Gyeltshen, Chief Dzongkhag Education Officer and sharing of judging criteria by Mr.Dorji Gyalpo, TEO (Chief Judge of the Cultural Program).

 A total of 300 youth and adults including 234 youth participants (117 boys and 117 girls), 6 youth leaders, 27 escorts, 3 cooks, 6 bus drivers and 24 officials participated the program. The program was funded by Dzongkhag and the Education Ministry with an amount of Nu.0.300 million in 2017-2018 financial year.

38th Birth Anniversary Celebration of His Majesty the King


On this auspicious day of His Majesty the King’s Birth Anniversary, Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag joins the nation to offer our Tashi Lekmoen and humble prayers for His Majesty’s long life and good health—and everlasting peace, prosperity and happiness in our great nation.

The event was graced by Dasho Dzongda as Chief Guest and was attended by Rabdey, Civil Servants, Business Community ,Armed Forces and the public of the Dzongkhag.




January, 22nd 2018, SamdrupJongkhar: The day old conference let by Hon’ble Governor and team, Royal Monitory Authority, Thimphu on Priority Sector Lending (PSL) was conducted along with different important stakeholders. This is basically to create awareness on the new guideline developed to make good coordination and develop efficiency among the actors during the implementation of the PSL. This guideline clearly spells out cottage and small industries (CSI) as priority sector for the economic development through enterprise development in the rural and producers group. It is basically subgroup into Agricultural and Non-Agricultural CSI. CSI covers whole value chain process form producers, packaging, and marketing as value added products for the end consumers.

Milk Processing Unit Inaugurated(Another milestone for the community of Wooling Village)


It was dream come true for the community of the Wooling village having completed their Milk Processing Unit. With almost over sum of Nu 1.6 million worth took almost 9 months to get completed. The Group members have thought that proper infrastructure was necessary looking at the increasing milk production trends in the locality. They have decided to invest sum of Nu. 0.9 Million from the Group saving which they have accumulated by marketing fresh Milk to Samdrupjongkhar Town and India. The remaining fund was supported for Dzonkhag Administration. Not only has this had the group brought Bolero utility pick up for transportation of the milk. The group also own 10 decimals of land (MPU site).
