Roll out Workshop for ECCD Centers

A roll down training for the ECCD centre monitors (parent school principals and one lower primary teacher from each parent school) was conducted at Dewathang Primary School for a duration of 5 days from 27-31st July, 2015 by the resource persons: Dorji Gyalpo ( TEO) & Chungla Dorji ( Dy. Chief Dzongkhag Education Officer)

This roll out workshop was to provide knowledge and skills to the ECCD Centre Program monitors for the parent schools principals and a teacher of lower primary school so that they are able to support and monitor their respective ECCD centres using QMTEC.

The objectives were as follows:

  • To refresh their knowledge and understanding of the components of ECCD Centre program
  • To increase the participants understanding of the importance of monitoring for quality learning environment
  • To clarify their roles as ECCD Centre program monitors
  • To develop skills and techniques for ECCD Monitoring ECCD program using the QMTEC
  • To provide immediate professional feedback and follow up to the facilitators
  • To increase motivation and confidence to using the National QMTEC for monitoring ECCD Centre
  • Able to write monitoring report using the predesigned template

There were four female against eleven male participants for the5 day training. One female is Vice Principals while three is a teacher. Seven male principals and four teachers took part in the training. The two resource persons used training methodology such as : pair work, brainstorming, power point presentation, reflection, large group discussion, video viewing, individual work, presentation and discussion, plenary, actual field visit and post –field visit, Question and answer, role play, reading through the guide, review, independent reading, clarification, photos, exhibiting and explanations.
