Google Apps Refreshers Course


Participants from the Dzongkhag, Thromde, Judiciary, ECB, RBP and Regional Offices attended the Google Aps Refreshes Course program held on the the 25/04/2016 and 13/04/2016. The Google Apps Support team from Application Division, Department of Information, Technology and Telecomm. and from Ministry of Education were the Resource Person for the program.

There are more than 200 accounts in Samdrup Jongkhar of which more than 100 users will attend the refreshers course during the 2 days. Participants were divided into 4 Batches and attended the program on 2 separate days.

Gmail have been used regularly for correspondences, however the other applications were not put into so much use. Every account has 30 GB of cloud storage to upload important documents, emails and attachments add up to the storage space, however, the Google docs and spreadsheets do not account for the storage space.

The users were concerned over the security issues which using the Google Apps. The team convinced the participants that Google uses state of the art technologies for security and even DITT shall not be able to read the emails send over gmail accounts.

  5. Spreadsheets
  6. Slides
  7. Hangouts
  8. 2-Step Verification process and its advantages

The users were overwhelmed by the interactive course and welcomed such program in the future as well. Many of the account holders could not attend the program since they were not in station.
