The Department of Workforce Planning and Skills Development (DWPSD) under the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD), in collaboration with the Bhutan Education and Skills Training (BEST) Project, conducted a one-day workshop on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Gender Sensitization for industry stakeholders in Samdrup Jongkhar.

The opening of the workshop was graced by the Dzongrab, signifying the importance of the initiative in promoting inclusive and collaborative vocational education in the region.

The sensitization program brought together approximately 30 participants representing various sectors, including the industrial sector, the hotel industry, and automobile businesses. The workshop aimed to enhance participants' understanding of the TVET system, its institutions, and ongoing initiatives, while also highlighting the vital role that industry partnerships play in strengthening vocational education and training nationwide.

In alignment with the National Education Policy, which advocates for a more inclusive and equitable TVET framework, the workshop also featured a dedicated session on gender sensitization. This component emphasized the importance of ensuring equal access and opportunities for all, regardless of gender, socioeconomic background, or disability status—supporting the national vision of a responsive and equitable TVET system.
