These days, Gomdar Gewog is as busy as any other training institute in Thimphu- from disaster management training to social capacity building. One such training that is ongoing at the Gewog is the first-ever Basic Entrepreneurship Course.
The training is jointly organized by the Entrepreneurship and Promotion Division of the Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship, the Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag Administration, and the Regional Office of Industry, Commerce, and Employment.
Twenty energetic youths, who have attended the VSDP program, from the local are the participants. The qualification ranges from eight to university graduates.
This course aims to build the necessary skills and competencies of youths to assist them in their entrepreneurial aspirations.
The Gewog chairperson graced the inauguration ceremony on the 16th of January. The Gewog Administrative Officer and Mangi Ap were the guests in attendance.
The chairperson highlighted to the youths that when such a privileged course is at the doorstep, it is necessary to give their heart and soul. He said that this course will help build the foundation of the business ecosystem in the Gewog , and, particularly, he shared that this course will help transform the mindset of youths to take up business as their profession.
The training course is facilitated by the incubation manager of Jigme Namgyal Engineering College and the Economic Development and Marketing Officer of Dzongkhag Administration.
